TKH was selected to assist in volume projection modeling, functional and space  programming and to provide planning for an 80-bed Emergency Department capable of accommodating 144,000 visits per year.  The original 38,000 sf, 45-bed unit was modified and expanded by 47,400 sf to include a 10-bed acute care unit, a 10-bed pediatric unit and 15 additional ED treatment beds.  Once the expansion is complete, this will be the largest ED in the Midwest.
