To address increasing volumes and create an improved patient experience, the entire Labor and Delivery unit was relocated to open shell space within a recently completed patient tower on campus. Located on two floors and within approximately 70,000 square feet, the Labor and Birth Suites accommodate 31 LDR’s, 6 surgical suites, and 11 private pre-op and recovery rooms. The new birth suites not only include the latest in technology but also provide rooms with a gracious family member area and sleeping options for birthing partners, massaging showers, whirlpool tubs, birthing balls, and flat screen TV’s.
The patient arrival experience to the hospital was greatly improved by the creation of the Maternity Welcome Center on the Hospital’s first floor near the main lobby entrance and adjacent dedicated parking to facilitate easy access for patients. Adjacent to the Welcome Center is the OB Triage Unit which provides twelve private rooms each with access to a restroom.
