As part of an ongoing multi-phased renovation project at SBLH, the existing Laboratory services were planned for relocation and expansion.  Total lab area was increased from approximately 7,000 square feet to 12,500 square feet.  Proposed relocations included moving the Main Core Lab to an adjacent Medical Office Building and shifting the Outpatient Phlebotomy Services to an area of main level of the Hospital to provide for convenient outpatient access.  Main Core Lab relocation allowed for increases in square footage to accommodate planned future robotics, reorganization of the department to create efficient specimen and staff workflows, provision of new laboratory systems furniture workstations, creating dedicated receiving/storage areas while maintaining controlled access to all areas of the Lab.  TKH provided programming and schematic design services for this project.
