Clinical Laboratory Relocation
Chesterfield, MO
Size: 11,000 square feet
Managing Principal: Steve Hartke
Key Personnel: Jim Frechman, Facility Planner/Programmer
As part of an ongoing multi-phased renovation project, which also facilitated expansion of the Surgery Department, the Main Core Lab was relocated to an adjacent Medical Office Building while maintaining Histology adjacent to Surgery. The Main Core Lab (which included formerly remote Microbiology) was expanded from approximately 7,200 square feet to 11,000 square feet. Main Core Lab relocation allowed for needed increases in square footage to accommodate planned future robotics, reorganization of the department to create efficient specimen and staff workflows, provision of new laboratory systems furniture workstations, and creation of dedicated receiving/storage areas. The creation of controlled access at all entry points to the Lab was a priority as this was a lacking element in previous existing conditions. TKH provided programming and schematic design services for this project.
